This aerial image looks down over Pippi’s Reach in Yamba, a place that has quietly marked time for our family. Every year we come back during the September–October school holidays, and long before we arrive, the feeling starts. As the temperature rises in August, there’s that familiar sense that Yamba is getting close again.
It’s not tied to dates or plans—just a shift in the air that signals what’s ahead. Clear water, empty stretches of sand, slow mornings, and the same coastline waiting, year after year. In 2026, the Delore family will reach 50 years of visiting Yamba. This image sits somewhere inside that story, not as a single moment, but as part of a rhythm that keeps repeating.
