"Flash" was captured at Redhead Beach as a storm approached from the south. The coal ships line the horizon as the as lightning bolts crash down next to them .On average, a typical lightning bolt carries about 1 billion joules of energy, which is roughly equivalent to the amount of energy used by a 100-watt light bulb for about 3 months, and its all gone in a few milliseconds.
