Australia Day at Redhead Beach is always a bustling affair, and 2023 was no different. The beach was packed with people, all looking to escape the blistering heat as the temperature soared into the late 30s. The sun beat down relentlessly, reflecting off the golden sands and shimmering waters, creating an intense, almost dizzying heat that seemed to stretch for miles. Surfers, swimmers, and beachgoers alike flocked to the shore, finding any bit of shade or cool water they could to find some relief. The vibrant energy of the crowd, combined with the scorching sun, made for a quintessential Australian summer day at one of Newcastle’s most beloved beaches.
